Volunteers for Green Fins are warmly welcomed and we thank everyone who has given their time to help with this rapidly expanding project.

Joining in means that you become part of a project that is measurably improving environmental practices wherever it goes. Through the Green Fins project, we have trained five different government departments, educated hundreds of scuba dive centres, worked with dozens of organisations such as NGOs, local government units, stakeholders from local communities and hundreds of tourists from around the world.

As the project grows every year, there is a growing need for more people to help out and support the project.

If you live in a participating Green Fins country you can participate nationally as a Green Fins Coordinator. Please contact your Network Leader to find out more. Their details are on the individual country pages on this website.

Alternatively, ask at any Green Fins dive operator – you will be able to recognise them from their in-shop certificate of participation, or contact the International Coordinators to find out more. They will be able to let you know about any marine conservation activities planned and how you can get involved.

Careers in Marine Conservation

If you are interested in a career in marine conservation, there are a number of excellent new professional marine conservation training programmes available. Approved training organisations, such as Zoox, allow trained personnel to support the project while helping those wanting to gain experience in a project that makes a real difference. The Zoox Experience Programme has been designed around helping to support selected passionate individuals wanting to further their knowledge, skills and develop their career while learning a variety of different topics through training modules included in the training. You can see what is like by watching their YouTube videos.

As diving is critical to any Green Fins Coordinator you must have at least 50+ dives experience. You must also be able to speak and write English fluently. If you would like to know more or have any questions about Zoox marine conservation training, then please go to their website.

If you have any further questions about volunteering for the Green Fins project, please email us at, thanks.
